  1.  NOVELL LAUNCHES "NOVELL PRESS," TEAMS WITH SYBEX
  2.  Publishing Entity to Fulfill Customer Need for Technical Information on
  3.  Novell Products

  5. PROVO, Utah -- November 19, 1991 -- Novell, Inc. today announced the
  6. formation of "Novell Press" and a publishing partnership with Sybex Inc. to
  7. provide customers with information about the benefits and capabilities of
  8. Novell solutions.
  9.  
  10. Novell and Sybex will jointly publish technical books under the imprint
  11. Novell Press.  These books will address computer networks, operating
  12. systems and related technology. Novell will play a central role in the
  13. development of book titles, review book organization and content, and
  14. certify technical accuracy of the books.  Sybex, a leading computer book
  15. publisher, will provide publishing expertise, editorial guidance,
  16. production management and retail distribution.

  18. "Customers need rich, reliable information about capabilities of their
  19. computing systems, and although much of this information is found in
  20. Novell's product documentation, some critical topics, such as network
  21. troubleshooting, can be presented in depth in a book," said Peter Jerram,
  22. newly appointed publisher of Novell Press.  "Sybex is an ideal publishing
  23. partner with its well-known expertise in producing best-selling technical
  24. books and getting them into the hands of customers who need them."

  27. there is great demand for authoritative books about these products," said

  29. work with Novell to bring quality technical books about their products to

  32. Within Novell, Novell Press will establish a publisher support program
  33. designed to assist other third-party publishers producing books about
  34. Novell products.  Under this program, these publishers can obtain necessary
  35. technical information, recommendations for authors and technical reviewers
  36. as well as access to Novell products   In addition, Novell Press will
  37. participate in joint marketing efforts with third-party publishers.
